Google, Google, Google. Never one to disappoint, Google’s July 2021 update is just finishing up, and you’ll want to be prepared for what may be to come. While Google makes incremental changes to improve its search results on a daily basis, these aren’t things that mere mortals like us would generally notice. The core updates, on the other hand, mean bigger changes afoot, and Google likes to lend a hand – so we can prepare ourselves. Because when it comes to your online presence – and the Scouts – being prepared is basically everything, it pays to pay attention when Google speaks. It is fair to say that 2020 has been a game-changer in every industry, and digital marketing is no exception. Many office buildings, work floors, and other workspaces locked their doors and instructed their employees to set up shop at home. It was an eventuality that no one saw coming – and that many wouldn’t have considered possible before the pandemic. Fortunately, the resourceful and flexible digital industry – as a whole – has managed quite nicely. This isn’t to say, however, that it’s been easy or that there aren’t ways we can continue to stay nimble and to roll with the evolving landscape of the new normal.
This may not come as a huge surprise, but you’re probably not even coming close to maximizing the value of your internal links. You’ve got a lot of balls in the air (it is 2020, after all), and let’s face it, all that internal link stuff can be hard to interpret and act upon. It’s easy to lose sight of the dynamic role internal links can play in your site’s overall relevance, but Google’s numbers don’t lie – internal links matter. Fortunately, there are some tips that can help you dominate those links and elevate your site performance in the process.
2020 was a year for the ages in so many ways, but we shouldn’t forget that 2020 also saw some serious SEO trends emerge and further solidify. Most of SEO’s evolutionary path in 2020 has been all about cementing trends that we were already beginning to play around with. Let’s take a closer look at some of the biggest developments out there. When it comes to local searches, Google My Business (GMB) is the holy grail, and people have questions – lots and lots of questions. We at The Web Guys are proud to announce the introduction of a new program to give back to some of the charities most near and dear to our hearts. With success comes the opportunity to share with others and make a difference to those who need it most. We’ve chosen four non-profit organizations so far that touch all of our hearts. 1. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital The first not-for-profit institution we’ve chosen to contribute towards is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Its mission is to advance cures and prevention of catastrophic diseases for children. No child is denied treatment based on financial standing, race, or religion. Families never receive a bill for treatment from St. Jude because of generous donations. Every dollar matters and makes an impact on the success of this incredible organization. We’re honored to know that our dollars are aiding in cancer research and treatment … Continued

The Web Guys have teamed up with Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County to help deliver food as well as compassion to those in need in our community. Thanks to this new partnership, members of our team spend a few hours every month driving door-to-door handing out nutritious meals to some of Hamilton County’s most vulnerable residents. The service is available to anyone who is “…physically or mentally unable to prepare a meal for themselves regardless of age or income.” I took a few minutes to chat with some of the participants from our team to find out why they decided to participate and what benefits or insights they’ve encountered along … Continued
